Intensive Russian Strikes Disrupt Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy died and three other people were injured.

The strikes come after evenings of air raids in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
